Review
This
is a British made camera that is reasonably priced and easy to use.
The first clear night I took very clear images of Jupiter, Saturn, and the moon.
I needed a laptop computer to operate the unit outside. I went downtown Seattle
and purchased a 4 year old Toshiba 133MZ laptop for $200 to control the camera.
When done I transfer the images to my desktop computer and process it. The
software with the camera was easily mastered and suggests to experiment with the
processing. Updates can be obtained through Starlight's website for free. The
camera is very light and comes with a 15 foot paralel port cable. Focusing can
be very frustrating. to alleviate this problem I purchased a focusing eyepiece
designed for this camera from ITE for about $130. Its worth every penny since it
simulates the field and focal plane of the CCD.
