Review

By far the best eyepieces I have ever seen are University Orthos.  I bought a 12.5mm to replace the cheesy 10mm Plossl that came with the scope.  For lunar and planetary views, it is excellent: very high contrast, high resolution of details, tack sharp to the edge.   Views of the planets or lunar craters must be seen to be appreciated.  It is a simple four element design that absorbs very little of the incoming image's energy.  The detail visible through this EP is far better than anything I have ever seen, even with a Barlow.  At a hundred bucks this would be a bargain.  As it is, they are less than $60.  The lead time is 24-48 hours by US mail.  I also bought the 25mm model to use in the burbs when exit pupil requirements rule out a 32mm Plossl.  Again, high contrast, perfect sharpness.  They do not come with eyecups, so you might want to get some.  They do come with caps at each end.  Also, they are physically small, so they occupy very little space.
The eye relief is good, even on the 12mm unit.  These are simply excellent eyepieces and are superior to any Plossl.  Some say the apparent field of view is less than a Plossl.  If that is true, I do not notice it.
